Merciless Ranti hits five as Dutchman supremacy trash United Sikkim :

Ranti : 10-1 win will boost United confidence and also to score five goals gives me great pleasure personally.

The Purples achieved a goal-fest against United Sikkim with five goal from Ranti Martins, braces from Carlos Hernandez, a goal from Md. Rafique and Malswamtulunga. Nima Tamang scored the only goal for Sikkim FC.

Kolkata, 10 Nov : United obliterated United Sikkim 10-1 in a fifth round I-League tie here at Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata on Saturday with Nigerian goal machine rampant in scoring another I-league hat-trick this year. This is the second biggest win of the I-League behind Dempo's 14-0 humiliation of Air india in 2010-11 where Martins had slotted home six.

This is the third win for purple side in the I-league where the team played over all five matches. United SC stay at second of the table now with ten points from five outings.

Eelco's purple brigade had racked up five goals by half-time with Nigerian forward Rantii Martins netting a hat-trick and Costarican World Cupper Carlos Hernandez added a brace to the emphatic scoreline.

The second half saw no let up as the relentless and clinical United found five more goals courtesy of Tulunga, Rafique and Ranti's another twice , while Ranti again whose last touch put the ball in the net. However it was later deemed to be an own goal by Michael Rodriguez as United SC celebrated their biggest ever I- league win at home in the most scintillating fashion.

The Purple side were criticized for go down off last weekend at Shillong, and losing three points against the Shillong Lajong, but it was no such repeat at the Saltlake Stadium, Kolkata as United set about executing a quite outrageous performance.

Philippe De Ridder's side could have been in front in just the five minute when United defense was caught napping as a hopeful pass played into the box found an unmarked Nima Tamang who took full advantage and put the ball to the right of goalkeeper Subrata Paul. But thereafter it was one-way traffic.

"Winning 10-1 gives us huge confidence, and also to score five goals gives me great pleasure personally," the Nigerian Ranti Martins said to press.

"We used this game to raise our self-esteem", he added.

"It's hard to say that when you draw or lose games, you have played well. But I think we played well against ONGC and even then we played well during those lose match."

It'd be a pain to recount the entire match goal-for-goal, but suffice to say that this is the type of play that has been waiting to explode from this side since the beginning of the season. Players were moving into space, finding each other perfectly, darting around opposition defenders, and deftly cutting off any chance of attack.

"Ranti and Carlos played well, like the rest of the team, while we kept a solid structure. We worked well,"- The Dutch Head Coach Eelco Schattorie stated at a press conference. "When the players show motivation and ambition the consequence is that their coach is more confident and puts them in the team for big matches. Boys showed qualities to put their name in the coach's head."

Both Coaches made a change at the break with Rafique coming on for Carlos, while Yoon Tae replaced Monotosh Ghosh for the visitors, with home side having enjoyed a staggering 70 per cent of the possession.

It was a thrashing of incredible execution and panache, and a quite breathtaking way for Dutchman's side to respond following one uncharacteristically sluggish performances against Shillong Lajong with a display pretty close to perfection.

"Dream On, coz all that's big and great started as a dream."
